The client is a leading telecommunication infrastructure company headquartered in Nigeria, and operates over 44,000 towers across the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. 

 BUSINESS NEED 

The client faced challenges with their data model characterized by inconsistencies and duplications in their master data, leading to significant data quality issues. Recognizing the critical nature of this concern, they sought to enhance their data management framework by implementing a centralized system. 

SYSTECH’S DELIVERY 

Leveraging expertise in Profisee and Azure Purview, Systech embarked on a comprehensive initiative to revamp the client’s Master Data Management (MDM) framework.  OVERVIEW 

Systech deployed a sophisticated Master Data Management (MDM) solution using Profisee, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Purview. The focus was on consolidating and optimizing the client’s data assets to improve agility, efficiency, and facilitate data-driven decision-making. 

 THE CHALLENGE 

Integrating the disparate data sources was the main challenge. This created hurdles in establishing robust data governance practices and managing the vast scale and complexity. The existence of data silos and inefficient processes hindered effective data utilization and agility in responding to market dynamics. 

THE DETAILED SOLUTION PROCESS 

Through a centralized system, the MDM solution facilitated data standardization, cleansing, and enrichment across various datasets. Through a seamless integration of Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Profisee API was used to ingest data from different source systems, 

 A unified source of truth brought in a comprehensive view of master data, reduced inconsistencies, enhanced data quality and decision-making. De-duplicating analytics by matching and survivorship rules helped identify repetitive data from multiple sources and eliminate the inconsistences in data completeness and data validation. Data profiling techniques and quality rules were implemented to maintain data integrity and evaluate various source systems to develop a Common Data Model for Master Data.  

 The optimized data model streamlined data access and analysis, facilitated business growth and innovation through improved insights and informed decision-making. The automated notifications for proposed matches, created by match strategies, ensured timely resolution of data anomalies.  

 With Power BI’s advanced capabilities, portals were established to track data quality metrics and generate reports. With extensive training and ongoing support, the stakeholders were able to monitor the effectiveness of the MDM solution, and gain insights into data trends, empowering informed decision-making.
